Etihad Building Rehabilitation

1/6 Existing conditions: An abandoned ten floors concrete structure located on one of the most vibrant spines of the city, opposite to Abdali’s development area and with close proximity to Etihad’s Headquarters.

2/6 Softening the rigidity: A soft line wraps the building structure, distinguishing it from most high and mid-rise buildings in the city. Setting base for a new skin that shall embrace the old existing structure.

3/6 Introducing the solar panel: An innovative skin of solar panels fixed on aluminum frames shall cover the concrete building along the soft line of the new intervention.

4/6 Green roof: The roof shall be at the same level of the existing 10th floor, however, a light structure shall host the new employees cafeteria, offering the building a social gathering space overlooking Amman’s views.

5/6 The back garden: The back garden acts as a small amphitheater overlooking the building, offering the bank a space for outdoor events and creating a green backdrop to the newly uplifted structure.

6/6 Sustainable Jordanian garden: This garden shall follow the same sustainability guidelines and introduce vegetation that is native and water-conserving.
