It was important to renovate and rehabilitate the castle to protect and preserve it from disintegrating, which is carried out within the historic framework of the existing castle. Any new additional elements were projected with evident visual contrast to differentiate it from what’s historical. The castle itself is a set off to become a national museum through an architectural interference that came to contrast the existing; this is achieved through the use of different materials and contemporary technological means, to verify the nature of the addition of that specific period. A glass skin that enfolds the five remaining rooms of the castle to allocate five different historical eras, in addition to a room dedicated to the contemporary art period. Historic pieces and acquisitions are displayed within those rooms, in the interstitial space between the rooms and the glass skin, and towards the exterior.
