Reviving Knowledge, Honouring Heritage
The Hashemite Hall is set to be renovated to house the Abdelhamid Shoman Foundation’s (AHSF) new cultural and knowledge hub in Zarqa, Jordan. The proposal honors the architectural heritage of the existing structure by preserving and revitalizing its structural core and the distinctive articulation of its elevations, carrying these elements forward in a contemporary approach through a series of modular expansion pods. Together, the renovated hall, its louvered façades, and the new modular extensions form a cohesive and contemporary intervention that respects the building’s legacy while fostering knowledge and cultural enrichment for the city of Zarqa.
