On the Pilgrimage Route

Set in a significant location along the pilgrimage route, the intention was to create thoughtful balance between architectural massing, materiality, and cultural relevance. Designed with sensitivity to its sacred and historic context in the Jordanian Valley, the development introduces a cultural/commercial spine with a restaurant to serve both tourists and pilgrims, enhancing the site's experiential and economic value. The master plan also includes additional structures aimed at supporting the spiritual and communal importance of the location, while ensuring minimal disruption to its natural and cultural landscape. Local, humble materials were deliberately chosen—most notably white plastered walls and stone from the region—to maintain simplicity and ensure that the architecture does not overshadow the significance of the site.
